Role Overview
The Deputy General Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the operations of Silver Back Hotel. This position is essential for coordinating various departments and ensuring that our mission of providing outstanding hotel services is met. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative work environment, demonstrating a results-oriented approach while fostering effective team dynamics.
Position Details

- Location: Mbarara
- Reporting Structure: Reports to General Manager
- Work Arrangement: On-site
Key Responsibilities
1. Review financial statements and performance data to identify areas for improvement.
2. Direct and coordinate activities related to production, pricing, sales, or distribution.
3. Prepare staff work schedules and assign specific duties.
4. Manage financial or budget activities to maximize efficiency.
5. Engage in sales floor activities, assisting customers and managing inventory.
6. Plan promotional activities in coordination with other department managers.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or related fields.
- Experience: 2-3 years in a similar role.
- Skills: Reading comprehension, active listening, speaking, critical thinking, and social perceptiveness.
- Knowledge Areas: Administration and Management, Customer Service, Personnel Management.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), HR software (e.g., Workday), financial analysis software (e.g., Adaptive Insights).
- Language Proficiency: English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred Skills: Time management, writing, negotiation.
- Knowledge Areas: Production and Processing, Economics and Accounting.
