Background

The Donor Communications Volunteer works alongside the Communications Manager to close a critical gap in Nyaka's donor engagement infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Support donor stewardship and fundraising efforts by managing donor data, coordinating personalized donor communications, producing impact reports, conducting prospect research, and strengthening engagement with individual, corporate, and institutional donors to enhance donor retention, acquisition, and long-term partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Development Studies, Business Administration, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience in fundraising, donor relations, nonprofit communications, or a client-facing relationship management role.
  • Demonstrated experience producing professional written communications for donors, partners, or other high-value audiences (a writing sample will be required).

Competencies

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft professional, warm, and persuasive messages tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Strong data management and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail in record-keeping, reporting, and correspondence.
  • Ability to handle sensitive donor, financial, and beneficiary information with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
