About the Role

YSAT is recruiting two Education Project Officers responsible for frontline delivery and monitoring of the Learning through Play (LtP) curriculum across selected pre-primary and primary schools in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise and facilitate professional development workshops, peer-learning circles, and mentorship sessions for teachers on LtP methodologies and LEGO Six Bricks concepts
  • Conduct regular support-supervision visits to classrooms and guide teachers in developing playful teaching-learning materials from low-cost local resources
  • Facilitate community sensitisation meetings, PTAs, and home-based play sessions to build parental understanding of playful learning
  • Oversee the safe, tracked, and equitable distribution of Play Kits, teacher guides, and educational materials
  • Partner with the MEAL Officer to routinely collect, clean, and verify school-level data tracking teacher adoption rates and student attendance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Primary Education, Early Childhood Development (ECD), or Teacher Education
  • Minimum 3 years of field-level experience teaching or supporting primary education and teacher-training initiatives, ideally in refugee settlements
  • Strong understanding of active learning methodologies
  • Fluency in local languages spoken in Kiryandongo (Acholi, Langi, Arabic, or Kiswahili) is a strong competitive advantage
  • Valid motorcycle riding licence is required
