PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Ensure all E&I systems on Work Over Rigs meet international codes, safety standards, and project specifications through rigorous factory testing and on-site commissioning.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Witness Testing: Act as a third-party inspector at vendor premises to witness FAT for critical equipment like 66KV generators, transformers, and GIS/MV/LV switchgears.
Visual Inspection: Verify workmanship, labelling, and physical integrity of E&I components against approved drawings.
Functional Validation: Conduct routine electrical checks (insulation resistance, winding) and functional checks on protection, control, and automation devices.
Punch List Management: Identify non-conformities and manage the punch list to ensure defects are resolved before equipment leaves the factory.
Installation Oversight: Supervise the installation of sensors, transmitters, actuators, and associated safety systems on the rig.
Loop Checks: Perform and witness loop checks to verify wiring continuity and signal transmission to control panels or DCS systems.
ATEX Compliance: Ensure all E&I installations in hazardous areas strictly follow ATEX (Ex) procedures to prevent potential explosions.
Functional Integration: Participate in functional tests and signal validation in coordination with automation and safety teams.
System Start-up: Assist in the safe energization of electrical systems and the start-up of power management and control systems.
Documentation: Prepare and approve final commissioning dossiers, including test sheets, calibration records, and certificates of conformity.

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation, or a related field
CERTIFICATES
API, Hazardous Area Certification, COMPEX
MAJOR
Electrical engineering, Automation or the related.
EXPERIENCE
At least 10 years of experience in Oil and Gas experience, specifically with high voltage systems and rig commissioning is mandatory
KNOWLEDGE
Familiar with site electrical construction.
Have similar working experience in large scale projects.
Good knowledge of the industry codes and standards of the discipline IEC, API & ATEX.
Deep understanding of hazardous area requirements, particularly CompEx training, to inspect electrical equipment in explosive atmosphere
Good knowledge of electrical control and management system.
CAPABILITY
Good organizational and communication skills.
Good command of written and spoken English.
Basic computer skills.
MISCELLANEOUS
Good security awareness.
Good team player.
Good motivated and achievement orientated.
