The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament to coordinate, monitor, and supervise the National Statistical System (NSS). Its primary mandate is to facilitate the development and maintenance of the NSS, ensuring the collection, analysis, and publication of integrated, relevant, reliable, and timely statistical information and related mattersLocal business directory

UBOS is seeking dynamic, competent, self-motivated, result oriented, and good team player of strong character and high integrity to fill the position below: –

Responsibilities or duties

To undertake effective UNHS Data collection as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Participate in all training sessions.
  • Locate the assigned Households in the work allocation.
  • Collect information in all the assigned areas.
  • Ensure that all the Field materials/equipment are properly handled, used, and returned to the supervisor after the enumeration exercise.
  • Document any challenges and report immediately
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)

Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least a Credit in Mathematics and English

Certificate in Computer applications is an added advantage.

Experience needed

1 years’ experience of continuous data collection.

Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)

Good computer knowledge.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

Must be available exclusively for the UNHS activity.

Computer literate, able to use Microsoft office Applications and other applications

Professionalism, Integrity, team spirit

Good communication skills

Objective and independent

Problem solving skills.

Confidence, patience, politeness, tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult situations.

Creative thinking to be able to come up with new ideas

An ability to work under pressure

Organizing, planning and report writing skills

Demonstrable record of good conduct and professionalism.

Excellent inter-personal relations and communication skills.

Analytical, writing and data management skills

  • Participate in all training sessions.
