Description

Emata is hiring a young Finance Apprentice looking for an exciting opportunity. We are offering a recent accounting/finance graduate or young accounting professional an apprenticeship role in Uganda’s most exciting agri fintech (if we can say so ourselves!).

About Emata

We are a fast-growing Ugandan fintech transforming agricultural finance. Since launching in 2021, we have served 60,000+ farmers and partnered with 100+ agri companies and cooperatives, including several of the continent’s most renowned agri company players. We blend AI, technology, and deep industry expertise to deliver world-class lending products tailored for farmers.

Products: Digital loans, crop insurance, digital payments

Team: 20+ engineers, data scientists, product & business

Culture perks: cappuccinos from farmers we lend to, office lunch, freedom to learn & innovate, flexible remote days, and more.

At our core, we value teamwork over titles, critical thinking over copying, ownership of outcomes, fast learning, and integrity without compromise.

What you’ll do

You will work with our finance team and handle incoming loan repayments. Specifically this means:

  • Manage our loan repayments
  • Support our accounting
  • Periodical reporting and flag potential issues
  • Update our back-office systems

This is a 3-6 months apprenticeship that is ideal for recent accounting/finance graduate or young accounting professional with up to 3 years of work experience.

If successful, the intention is to grow this role into a full-time position.

You might be the one if you are…

  • A recent accounting/finance graduate or professional with maximum 3 years experience
  • Meticulous and precise working style
  • A pro-active attitude
  • Team player
