JOB DETAILS:
We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized Finance Officer.The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity of the organization and supporting the efficient allocation of resources in line with our mission.

Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Management:
o Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management.
o Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
o Assist in the development of budgets for new projects and monitor expenditure against approved budgets.
• Financial Reporting:
o Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors and regulatory bodies.
o Reconcile bank statements, manage financial data entry, and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
o Collaborate with the Finance Manager to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Compliance and Audit:
o Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, organizational policies, and donor requirements.
o Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit queries.
o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in financial regulations and advise the organization accordingly.
• Grant Management:
o Monitor and report on the financial performance of grants, ensuring proper allocation and use of funds.
o Prepare financial reports for donors, ensuring accuracy and adherence to donor guidelines.
o Work closely with program teams to ensure that grant funds are utilized effectively and in line with approved budgets.
• Capacity Building:
o Provide training and support to staff on financial policies, procedures, and best practices.
o Assist in the development and implementation of financial systems and procedures to improve efficiency and control.
• Collaboration and Support:
o Work closely with program managers and other departments to provide financial insights that support decision-making.
o Assist with the preparation of financial documentation for board meetings and other strategic discussions.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or ACCA certification preferred).
• Minimum of [3] years of experience in financial management, preferably within the non-profit or humanitarian sector.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Experience with grant management and donor compliance.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Commitment to the mission and values of CEER.
