Company Overview
Our client is a leading player in Uganda’s automotive and mobility sector, with a strong presence in the motorcycle market. The organization specializes in the distribution and retail of motorcycles, genuine spare parts, after-sales services, and local motorcycle assembly, supported by a growing branch and distribution network across Uganda.
Position Summary
The Fintech Consultant will lead the end-to-end setup and operationalization of a smartphone-finance business, including team formation, systems implementation, credit policy, mobile-money integration, device-locking, collections, dealer management and reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advise on and form the team required to run the business, including hiring and training
- Own the full build-out of the onboarding and billing systems and mobile-money integration
- Communicate with the device-locking provider and decide the locking approach (prepaid vs post paid locking)
- Define credit policies for the smartphone-finance book
- Set up the customer-support function for collections
- Build the ground team to manage smartphone dealers
- Specify the exact app build and reporting systems the business will need
Qualification and Experience
- 3–5 years of direct experience working with a smartphone or device financier
- Experience building or managing onboarding, billing, device-locking and collections processes
- Hands-on experience in building teams, systems and processes from the ground up to implementation
