UGANDA SKILLS DEVELOPMENT IN REFUGEE AND HOST COMMUNITIES (USDRHC) PROJECT EDUCATION SECTOR Grant No: C8198-UG Project ID No: P176263

The Government of the Republic of Uganda has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Uganda Skills Development in Refugee and Host Communities Project (USDRHC), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, non-consulting services and consulting services to be procured under this project.

The project development objective is to improve access to quality and market-relevant skills training programs for refugees and host communities in Uganda.

The project will include the following components:

  1. Component 1: Skills Development Fund (SDF) This component will support training institutions and enterprises to provide market-relevant skills training programs to refugees and host communities.

  2. Component 2: Establishment of a new training facility and upgrading existing ones This component will support the construction of a new training facility and the upgrading of selected existing training institutions to improve access and quality of skills training.

  3. Component 3: Capacity Building for Institutions and Stakeholders This component will support capacity building activities for institutions and stakeholders involved in the implementation of the project.

  4. Component 4: Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation This component will support project management, monitoring and evaluation activities.

Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, July 2016, revised November 2017 and August 2018, and is open to all eligible firms and individuals as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

Specific procurement notices for contracts subject to open international competitive procurement will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and on the World Bank’s external website, and in local newspapers.
