Job Description

Government Relations

  • Define, manage, and execute the non-market strategy of Glovo around public affairs, supported by communication and impact and sustainability projects to maximize success and legitimacy.
  • Lead local consultancies and collaborate — where necessary — with think tanks, industry associations and other key agents to plan and execute a robust strategy.
  • Act as a key liaison across various internal departments (Marketing, Legal, Operations, etc.) to ensure cross-departmental alignment on strategies that address the country’s most pressing issues, aligned with business performance and metrics.
  • Work to deliver in-depth analysis to the management team of the local stakeholder environment, risks and opportunities, identifying right relationships in the regulatory, administrative, media and social spheres.
  • You will personally lead engagement with senior stakeholders and high-impact policy discussions, representing Glovo in all instances.
  • Oversee and plan the significant budget allocation, making sure it enables impactful and scalable outputs.

PR Comms and Social Media:

  • Lead, oversee and execute the planning and execution of external communication strategies, focusing on enhancing brand awareness, improving Glovo’s reputation, and supporting the company's business growth, both in Corporate and Consumer PR.
  • Ensure strategic coherence and consistency in Glovo’s messaging for media relations, while building strong, long-term relationships with journalists, media outlets, and key tech industry KOLs across the region.
  • Create compelling social media content across Instagram and LinkedIn, adventuring into other platforms where Nigerian customers are present.
  • Analyze metrics from PR and social media campaigns to measure effectiveness, providing leadership in data-driven tactical adjustments to achieve better outcomes.
  • Crisis communications management within the region, ensuring swift and professional responses when necessary.

Impact & Sustainability:

  • Spot the right opportunities to set and implement an ambitious Impact & Sustainability plan that will not only drive positive change but also reduce our negative footprint.
  • Ensure all Impact initiatives support our Global Affairs goals by building key allies and institutional footprint.
  • Draw on global toolkits and data sources to align the I&S strategy with our core business and global I&S plan, working with the regional Africa Impact Lead and local teams to execute good and fast, while proactively finding new avenues for collaboration with local organizations.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of extensive Government Relations, Public Affairs, or/and PR experience.
  • We’re open to candidates who’ve been leaders in other careers (e.g. legal & corporate affairs, industrial relations, public sector) and may be looking for a career change.
  • Political & Media Mastery: You possess a deep understanding of Nigeria’s highly politicized environment and informal forums to navigate institutional relationships and complex governmental issues.
  • 360° Communication & Impact: You have the creative mindset to manage social media, coordinate influencer-led consumer campaigns, and leverage business milestones to cement Glovo as an industry leader and key socioeconomic contributor.
  • Agile Crisis Management: You are a quick decision-maker capable of handling high-stakes regulatory shifts, media storms, or social media crises under intense pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Strategic "Doer" Mentality: You prioritize doing over delegating, with a startup mindset that empowers you to roll up your sleeves and take direct action to safeguard our business model on a daily basis.
  • On-the-Ground Leadership: Based in Lagos with the flexibility to travel on-demand to our different cities, especially Abuja, you bring native/fluent English alongside exceptional interpersonal abilities for high-stakes engagement.

We believe driven talent deserves:

  • Top-notch private health insurance to keep you at your peak.
  • Monthly Glovo credit to satisfy your cravings!
  •  Extra time off, the freedom to work from home one day a week, and the opportunity to work from anywhere for up to three weeks a year!
  •  Online therapy and wellbeing benefits to ensure your mental well-being.
