JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary:
Walimu, a Ugandan health NGO, is hiring a Grants/Accountant Receivable. The position is based in Kampala and reports to the Finance and Grants Manager.

• Prepare Bank Reconciliations for all bank accounts for review by the Accountant Payable and Finance and Grants Manager.
• Prepare Budget Variance Reports for review by the Finance and Grants Manager. Follows-up on accountabilities due for the month from the staff.
• Reviews and signs off on accountability form, posts accountabilities in QuickBooks for review by the Finance and Grants Manager and approval by the ED.
• Recommends payment and procurement requests to the Finance Officer for budget verification ensuring that funds are available for the expense or advance to be paid out prior to PI and ED's Approval.
• Prepare a month-end checklist/report to be approved by the Finance and Grants Manager
• World Alliance for Lung and Intensive Care Medicine in Uganda (WALIMU)
• Quality Health Care For Everyone
• Review ledgers for the statutory accounts generated from QB on a monthly basis to ensure balances are well explained
• Updates the budget tracking tool on a daily basis.
• Enters funds received in QuickBooks to the donor funds ledger and perform donor funds reconciliation.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• CPA is a requirement for the job.
• Proven experience in grant management and accounts receivable.
• Strong financial acumen and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks financial software and Microsoft Office especially excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and offering extra effort to meet deadlines
• Ethical mindset and commitment to transparency.

Experience:
• A least 3 years of working experience as an accountant in public or reputable organization

Bachelor Degree
