Overview
In order to achieve the project objectives SITES has identified the need for a Health Communications (HC) Manager.
The Health Communications (HC) Manager will oversee the development and execution of the SITES communication strategy, including coordination and dissemination of knowledge products. The primary responsibility is to document and appropriately share knowledge and communications products that inform stakeholders, including USAID for purposes of informing policy and programing. The HC Manager is a member of the SITES in-country leadership team under the supervision of the Chief of Party. SITES.

Responsibilities
Tasks:

• Develop a communications strategy and workplan in collaboration with the SITES technical teams
• Ensure compliance of communications products with the customer and contractual requirements. These may include among others; programmatic reports, blogs, news articles, audio/video series, websites, social media and other digital products.
• Prepare communications materials, including visuals and graphics.
• Design systems and processes for efficient storage and retrieval of knowledge products.
• Support technical teams to identify and prepare knowledge products.
• Prepare and oversee use of guidelines for knowledge capture and documentation.
• Review and edit knowledge products, contractual and adhoc reports and technical documents prior to sharing with the customer and stakeholders.
• Coordinate and liaise with the communications leads/experts among stakeholders and the customer to ensure SITES visibility.
• Identify resources that enable SITES to produce cutting-edge communications products.
• Contribute to events management through documentation (rapporteuring, editing, packaging ….) and reporting. Such events may include technical meetings, policy dialogues, communications events, seminars, webinars and others.
• Work collaboratively with the knowledge management. learning and capacity building team to contribute to the SITES learning agenda for Health, HIV and OVC.
• Build the capacity of technical teams at SITES and among implementing partners to manage knowledge and communication.
• Monitor, evaluate and document the use of SITES communications and knowledge products and their impacts on Health, HIV and OVC programming.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:

• An advanced University Degree (Masters) in Health Communication, Multi-Media, Journalism, or related field.
• Minimum five (5) years of work experience in Health communications management, or related area in a health development organization.
• Three (3) years of experience in leading health communications, including planning, writing, editing, and producing communications products through a wide range of media channels.
• At least five (5) years of experience with electronic/digital communication management - websites and social media. Understanding of the use of Google Analytics and similar software is an advantage.
• Experience with webinars and online learning platforms.
• Knowledge of working with USAID communications, branding and marking requirements.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to convey messages through clear and concise communication with relevance to target audience.
• Strong attention to detail.
• High level of competency with MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
