JOB DETAILS:
As an HCD Consultant you will be assigned 11 coaches and 10 learning school sites to support directly. Your role will require you to:
• Co-Facilitate HCD sprints for Kampala and Arua to support teachers
• Attend the training on Human Centred design to well equip the teams with knowledge on coaching teachers innovate prototypes that suit their classroom contexts.
• Conduct weekly coaching sessions with the design teams: Build rapport with teachers to create a cordial coach-coachee relationship that will facilitate mentorship for Design coaches to learn and coach teachers to embark and operationalize their design Journey maps.
• Conduct data reflection workshops: With support from the M&E officer the Consultant will support teachers reflect and gain deeper understanding of the data. They will together triangulate data both qualitative and quantitative to understand, scope and identify their design challenges.
• On assessment data and reflections from the HCD exploration phase and use the data collected to inform the design process.
• Conduct a minimum of 2 check in meetings per school assigned per monthto support teachers design innovations, test and iterate these innovations to progress into context relevant scalable solutions. outlining and test assumptions and test in their respective classrooms. The Consultant is expected to support the design teams to develop prototypes and innovations to address challenges in their classrooms.
• Construct a process progression matrix per School supported. The Consultant will be required to document the HCD journey map taken per School from the point of problem identification (Design challenge, initial protype, test assumption while documenting learning. These findings will be curated and profiled to support the generation of the Innovation. (Capturing HMW, POV)
• Learning from implementation**:** Sample high potential innovations process and support on collecting evidence on learning. inform the innovations’ potential to be a Minimum Awesome Product
• Mentor the coaches assigned to the different schools to take them through the HCD process to the level of have a Minimum Awesome Product.
• Reports: Draft report on evidence generated as Schools’ test assumptions and Innovations designed.
• Learning from implementation – evidence and Highlights on possible innovation moving to Minimum Awesome Prototypes.
• Attend weekly Coaching meetings. Attend weekly meetings with Schools2030 management to share updates on project implementation.
• Participate in Schools2030 events including the Innovation in prototyping workshops and National Education Showcase Events.

Duration
The partnership is valid for three months. (June - October)

Key Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree qualification in any field related to the role and a post graduate certificate in Humanities is required.
• Proven experience in working with schools on Human Centred Design Thinking processes.
• Ability to build rapport and nature cordial productive iterative coaching sessions.
• Open minded, proactive, and persistent
• A quick learner adaptive and intentional
• Good communicator with a good command of English
• Able to travel to the schools in both urban and rural locations
