Job Summary

Tembo Steels (Uganda) Limited seeks a competent and proactive IT Officer to manage and support the company’s IT infrastructure, systems, and users within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will ensure smooth operation of hardware, software, networks, and factory-related systems to support production and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware, printers, scanners, CCTV, and other IT equipment
• Manage and support company networks (LAN/WAN), internet connectivity, and Wi-Fi systems
• Provide technical support to staff across production, stores, accounts, and administration
• Maintain and secure company servers, backups, and data systems
• Support factory-related systems such as ERP, inventory, production, and attendance systems
• Ensure cybersecurity measures, antivirus updates, and system access controls
• Maintain IT asset registers and documentation
• Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers
• Train staff on basic IT use and data security best practices

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of computer networks, hardware, and software troubleshooting
• Experience with ERP or factory management systems is an added advantage
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
