Job Summary
Tembo Steels (Uganda) Limited seeks a competent and proactive IT Officer to manage and support the company’s IT infrastructure, systems, and users within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will ensure smooth operation of hardware, software, networks, and factory-related systems to support production and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware, printers, scanners, CCTV, and other IT equipment
- Manage and support company networks (LAN/WAN), internet connectivity, and Wi-Fi systems
- Provide technical support to staff across production, stores, accounts, and administration
- Maintain and secure company servers, backups, and data systems
- Support factory-related systems such as ERP, inventory, production, and attendance systems
- Ensure cybersecurity measures, antivirus updates, and system access controls
- Maintain IT asset registers and documentation
- Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers
- Train staff on basic IT use and data security best practices
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of computer networks, hardware, and software troubleshooting
- Experience with ERP or factory management systems is an added advantage
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
