Background
Vaal Real Estate Uganda Limited is seeking an IT Support Officer.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-line and second-line technical support for hardware, software, network, and access issues.
- Diagnose faults, identify root causes, escalate complex issues to IT Manager.
- Install, configure, upgrade, maintain desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices.
- Perform scheduled system maintenance, updates, patches, antivirus, performance checks.
- Support LAN, wireless connectivity, internet services, basic server access.
- Manage IT helpdesk system – log, track, prioritise, resolve within SLAs.
- Support user lifecycle (onboarding/offboarding, accounts, access, passwords).
- Provide end-user training on systems, applications, cybersecurity awareness.
- Enforce IT security standards, access control, data protection, device security.
- Maintain IT asset registers, system documentation, configuration records.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend technical solutions or improvements.
- Support IT projects: system upgrades, software rollouts, infrastructure improvements.
