The Role
We are looking for a sharp, self-driven Computer Science graduate or early-career software builder for a permanent full-time position as our internal AI Engineer. You will work directly with leadership to design, build, and deploy automation pipelines, connect disparate platforms, and implement AI tools that streamline our supply chains, administration, and customer workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Build Automation Pipelines: Design and deploy automated workflows using custom code (Python/TypeScript) and orchestration tools (such as n8n or Make) to connect internal databases and software.
• Integrate AI & Data Systems: Implement RAG pipelines and AI APIs to process unstructured documents (e.g., invoices, price sheets, logs) into structured, actionable business data.
• Rapid Prototyping: Take operational problems from concept to a working prototype in days, iterating quickly based on internal feedback.
• API Management: Stitch together third-party platforms via REST APIs and webhooks to eliminate manual data entry.
• Technical Documentation: Maintain clean documentation and basic internal guides for deployed automation systems.

What We Are Looking For

• Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related technical field from a reputable institution (such as Makerere University), or equivalent demonstrated experience as a builder.
• Core Technical Fluency: Strong proficiency in Python or TypeScript, with a solid grasp of backend logic, asynchronous programming, and JSON/REST APIs.
• Automation Mindset: Familiarity with modern workflow automation tools, cloud services, and LLM orchestration frameworks.
• High Learning Velocity: The ability to independently read documentation, troubleshoot breaking API changes, and master unfamiliar tech stacks on the fly.
• Pragmatic Problem Solver: A portfolio of personal projects, GitHub contributions, or side builds demonstrating your ability to ship working software.
