Because of that, the Company is continously seeks to recruit jobs, whose operations are conduted at The Bugolobi Head offices and at the Mukono Factory.

Job Summary

The Junior Coffee Trader is responsible for sourcing and trading activities, as well as holding engagements with suppliers and buyers. The job holder is required to understand the entire coffee value chain to incorporate this knowledge in all sourcing and trading activities and discussions with suppliers and buyers.

Qualifications, Skills and Work Experience

The ideal candidate should preferably have a University Degree in Business, Agriculture or Economics, with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in coffee trading and sourcing, and prior work experience in a recognised Coffee trading company in East Africa is an added advantage.

The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of Coffee Trading procedures, possess business acumen and knowledge of coffee trade cost drivers, and have the ability to nurture relationships.

The ideal candidate should have good communication and presentation skills, with strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills. He or she must be customer-centric and a team player.

In addition, the ideal candidate should be able to keep an overview of multiple tasks, handle pressure and pay high attention to detail.

  • Assisting with all sourcing activities of agricultural produce
  • Understanding the company’s sourcing needs
  • Identifying and contacting suppliers
  • Evaluating offers from suppliers and negotiating affordable prices and quality
  • Tracking orders and ensuring timely delivery
  • Liaising with staff members to ensure all products arrive in good condition
  • Following up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
  • Originating and supporting sustainable sourcing initiatives
  • Nurturing existing suppliers, identifying and recruiting new suppliers.
  • Updating internal databases with order details (dates, suppliers and quantities) and maintaining updated records of farmers, co-operatives & aggregators (KYS)
  • Coordinating between partners or customers and co-workers or superiors, such as taking calls and answering questions
  • Supporting responsible sourcing initiatives
  • Continuously invigorating the supply chain
  • Monitor the market for commodity availability and upcoming challenges while notifying the business of any new coffee requirements
  • Conducting market research to identify pricing & quality trends
  • Engaging and performing in any other project or activity as required from time to time
  • Good communication and presentation skills
