Job Purpose
To perform laboratory investigations, process specimens accurately, and provide reliable diagnostic results that support effective patient care and clinical decision-making.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect, receive, label, and process patient specimens according to laboratory procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and examinations accurately.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment as required.
- Ensure quality control measures are followed during laboratory procedures.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Interpret and report laboratory findings appropriately.
- Ensure proper storage and disposal of specimens and laboratory waste.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, biosafety, and infection prevention.
- Monitor laboratory supplies and report shortages promptly.
- Participate in laboratory quality improvement activities.
- Support clinicians by providing timely and accurate laboratory results.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology/Science from a recognized institution.
- Registered with the relevant professional regulatory body.
- Valid practicing license.
- Previous experience working in a hospital or healthcare facility is an added advantage.

- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and quality assurance procedures.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
