About the role:
We are seeking a skilled maintenance engineer to join our solar power plant team. The ideal candidate will have experience with power plant maintenance and a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical system. As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and conducting of predictive, preventative, corrective and overhaul maintenance of all power plant electric generating and associated plant equipment to ensure the plant is operated in a safe, reliable and efficient manner

Key Responsibilities:
1. To schedule and manage preventive and predictive maintenance in accordance with equipment and systems requirements and as indicated by equipment and system performance, maintenance records, safety requirements and best practices.
2. To constantly review and improve maintenance processes and ensure that maintenance personnel are properly trained and adhere to established procedures and standards in accordance with prudent industry practice.
3. To continually evaluate, schedule and budget the maintenance program and recommends changes to optimise maintenance cost effectiveness, work quality, outage time and availability.
4. To perform routine and scheduled maintenance on equipment and systems, including solar panels, inverters, and electrical systems.
5. To troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures, and repair or replace faulty components
6. To keep accurate maintenance records and document equipment performance and maintenance history.
7. To continuously improve maintenance procedures and processes
8. To collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities
9. To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head, Power Plant from time to time

Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Renewable Energy Engineering
2. At least 3 years’ experience in O&M of power plant.

Core Competency
1. Proven understanding and experience with O&M of a power plant in a maintenance role.
2. Good knowledge and understanding of solar PV technology
3. Should have the ability to get the relevant certification with codes to connect to the grid and transmission lines.
4. Should have experience in managing design, installation and commissioning of complex large scale PV generation projects.
5. Flexibility; i.e. willingness to work on-call and respond to emergency maintenance requests.
6. Strong problem-solving skills
