Background

Watoto Church Ministries has experienced exponential growth in the past couple of years composed of multiple Celebration Centers (Campuses) and diverse Community care initiatives that include Childcare, Community and Neighborhood, Education and FM Radio amongst others. In all of this, Watoto remains a local church, committed to Celebrating Christ and Caring for Community.

Job Purpose

The Maintenance Officer - Electrician to ensure Watoto electrical assets and facilities are well maintained to provide users with excellent, secure, conducive, comfortable environment and value for money for the Watoto Church ministries.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Conduct inspections of all Watoto property to identify needed services and repairs.
  • Minimize rectification work by ensuring correct procedures are employed during assembly and maintenance work.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of electrical appliances.
  • Ensure company assets i.e. tools and equipment are maintained to an acceptable standard, and ensure all tools are available for inspection when requested.
  • Assist with the preparation and implementation of the maintenance improvement plan.
  • Establish preventative maintenance schedules for Generators.
  • Assist in the management and supervision of maintenance projects.
  • Participate in the management of contracts.
  • Maintain and regularly updates inventories of all generators and parts.
  • Supervise contractors and volunteers to ensure a positive and healthy work environment.
  • Promote workplace health and safety compliance based on established guidelines.
  • Supervise contractors and ensure performance is based on the agreed terms and conditions.
  • Preparation of reports on maintenance and repair activities.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • The applicant for the role should hold at least a minimum of a Diploma in Electrical engineering, or any other relevant qualification.
  • A minimum of two years practical working experience in electrical maintenance repairs.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft applications.
  • Driving licence in Uganda.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and an initiative-taking, goal oriented approach.
