About the job
Background: B&S Produce Uganda was established in 2013.
The main plant is located at Bombo Luwero District Uganda, Nyimbwa – Gulu Highway with its Main office Located at Forest Mall Lugogo Bypass Unit 48. Produce dealt includes; coffee beans, G-nuts, kidney beans, maize, Sesame, Sorghum, Soya Beans, fresh vegetables, and fruits.

We are looking for interested qualified candidates to fill in the following vacancies advertised below:

Purpose:
Mechanical engineer play a pivotal role in the design, research, build, test, and improve mechanical and electrical devices, equipment, and systems.

Responsibilities
• : Design, develop, and optimize mechanical components and systems. Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation to support manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed design specifications.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.
• Provide specialist technical/engineering advice and guidance to management on the operation and maintenance of plant/equipment ensuring highest safety standards.
• Proactively monitor, review and analyses plant and equipment performance and provide feedback to management, identifying opportunities to maximize production and performance and share best practice.
• Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe and effective manner that satisfy statutory and Company standards and that no hazardous incidents or events occur.
• Prepare reports relating to equipment performance and compliance to meet local and international standards.
• Provide technical support and Technical training to Plant technicians and engineers and also participate in operating machine during production.
• Provide technical support to marketing for bids and proposals. Perform any other duties as required by management.

Qualifications
• BSc. or MSc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Agricultural Science Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in agricultural machinery or similar industries.
• Production Process Techniques or technologies. Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and quality control procedures.
• Experience & familiarity with agricultural sector practices and technologies is an added advantage.
• Capable of solving complex engineering problems and implementing new ideas which improves efficiency and reduce waste.
• Knowledge or familiarity with machineries is preferable. Skills with Microsoft Suite of Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access).

Bachelor Degree
