JOB DETAILS:

MIDWIVES – 7 POSITIONS

Job Purpose

The Midwife provides safe, respectful, and evidence-based care to women throughout pregnancy, labour, childbirth, and the postnatal period, as well as newborn care.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

• Conduct antenatal assessments and provide appropriate maternal health education.
• Monitor pregnant women and identify potential complications.
• Provide care and support during labour and delivery.
• Monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing during labour.
• Assist with normal deliveries in accordance with professional standards.
• Recognise and promptly escalate obstetric emergencies.
• Provide immediate newborn care and assess the condition of the newborn.
• Support breastfeeding and maternal-infant bonding.
• Provide postnatal care to mothers and newborns.
• Administer prescribed medicines and treatments.
• Maintain accurate maternity and patient records.
• Provide family planning and reproductive health education.
• Promote infection prevention and control.
• Participate in emergency obstetric and neonatal care.
• Provide compassionate care while respecting patients' dignity, privacy, culture, and choices.
• Participate in clinical handovers and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Qualifications and Experience

• Recognised professional qualification in Midwifery.
• Registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body.
• Valid practising licence.
• Relevant clinical experience is an advantage.

Experience in Months: 12

Level of Education: bachelor degree
