About the Migration Programme
Since Feb 2022, the Uganda and South Sudan Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) started implementing a 5-years special initiative on migration and forced displacement. Among other key objectives, the program seeks to understand and provide solutions to the multiple causes of both cross-border and intra-country movements in Uganda and South Sudan. From Dec 2022, we are looking for the programme lead who shall be expected to fulfil the following tasks:
Planning and implementation of various activities:
This shall include the development of concept notes and budgets, administration of the activities and preparation of the necessary financial and narrative reports
• Liaising with key stakeholders: Strengthening and establishing new contacts and relationships with state and non-state actors working in the areas of migration and forced displacement.
• Research: Supporting the research and publication undertakings in the areas of migration and forced-displacement through the identification of research topics, authorship and/or review of publication texts as well as taking part in the identification of and communication with experts/consultants.
• Liaising with partner organizations: Working with our partners in the development of partnership goals, design, and implementation of activities – including technical support in the preparation of concept notes, budgets, programmes as well as assessing and supporting the logistical needs of activities
• M&E: Coordinating the monitoring and evaluation undertakings of the migration programme.
• Online engagement: Managing and regularly updating the homepage and social media platforms of KAS Uganda and South Sudan.
• Finance and administration: Supporting the financial and administrative functions of the migration programme.
• Representing KAS at external functions and events Academic Qualification and relevant work experience
• Master’s degree in any social sciences or humanities disciplines. A post-graduate certification and training on the subjects of migration, refugee’s management, peace building and post-conflict reconstruction, labor and security studies is an added advantage. • Proficient command of spoken English language.
• Excellent research and analytical writing skills (provide links to relevant writing samples in your CV).
• Knowledge of German language is an added advantage.
