JOB PURPOSE
- To establish, develop and scale the Mobility Finance business (motorcycle hire-purchase business) operations in Uganda based on operational experience from Kenya, the Ugandan market situation and the direction from the Mobility Finance Division HQ in Japan.
- The role involves building the team, driving daily operations, managing risks and achieving key performance targets including sales, default rate and repossession rate. The ideal candidate will be a self-driven leader with strong ownership and a passion for financial inclusion and mobility.
- Strategic Leadership Lead the team and develop strategies aligned with WASSHA's vision and the direction from the Mobility Finance Division HQ in Japan.
- Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth Drive revenue and profit growth by analyzing the market and implementing effective growth initiatives.
- Execution of Daily Operations Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, service quality and achievement of KPIs.
- Collaboration & Coordination Work with internal and international teams, hire and train staff and leverage WASSHA's assets for business growth.
- Customer Engagement Understand customer needs, solve pain points and deliver solutions that create value.
- Risk Management Monitor portfolio performance, lead recovery actions, manage risks and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Education Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Strategic Management or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean Start-up) are an advantage.
- Experience Minimum 2+ years of experience in a managerial role (e.g. General Manager, Sales Manager, Operation Manager).
- Preferred 5+ years of experience in motorcycle financing or hire-purchase in emerging markets in Africa.
- Experience in bike taxi (boda) community engagement and working with motorcycle distributors, dealers or EV motorcycle players.
