ORTHOPEDIC OFFICER – 1 POSITION

Job Purpose

The Orthopedic Officer provides assessment and management of patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions within their scope of practice.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Assess patients presenting with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.
  • Conduct relevant physical examinations.
  • Assist with diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Manage fractures, dislocations, soft tissue injuries, and other conditions within scope of practice.
  • Apply casts, splints, braces, and other orthopaedic supports as trained and authorised.
  • Assist with wound care and minor orthopaedic procedures.
  • Monitor patients' progress and response to treatment.
  • Recognise complications and refer appropriately.
  • Provide patient education on injury care, rehabilitation, mobility, and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Work with doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain orthopaedic equipment and supplies.
  • Follow infection prevention and safety procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Recognised qualification in Orthopaedic Medicine/Orthopaedic Technology or relevant professional training.
  • Registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body where applicable.
  • Valid practising licence where applicable.
  • Relevant clinical experience is desirable.
