Partnership Manager – Kampala
Overview

The Partnership Manager drives SCUG’s partnership operations delivery. The position holder coordinates and works with PDQ Team on the establishment strategic and implementing partners that contribute to bringing lasting improvements to the lives of children and pose minimum and manageable risk to the organisation. The role holder ensures that SCUG works effectively with partners and appropriately manages partner relationships, upholding values of mutual benefit and complementarity, value addition and empowerment, transparency and accountability.
The Partnership Manager ensures all partner work follows the SCI Partnership Principles, the Partnership Strategy and the Partnership Guidelines. S/he leads in building partnerships that fit with SCUG’s strategic programming priorities. S/he supports the partnership management cycle, overseeing and coordinating assessments, supporting sub-granting, coordinating capacity development processes and enabling Project Managers and members from all SCUG teams to deliver on planned and clear results in regards to partners’ capacity, accountability and effectiveness. Partnership Manager will also lead on Save the Children’s approach to supporting organizational capacity development, in strong collaboration with partners.
Experience and Skills
Essential

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Education, Development Studies or similar relevant field.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience in an INGO or similar.
• Thorough understanding and demonstrated commitment to child rights issues and the guiding principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, including non-discrimination, child participation and the best interest of the child.
• Extensive knowledge of and credibility with local and national NGO partners.
• Project management experience, including demonstrated abilities within budget development, implementation and monitoring & evaluation.
• Demonstrated methodological grounding in, and practical experience with partnership development and management processes, including capacity strengthening and organizational development practices (this is a must).
• Solid understanding of the roles and dynamics of civil society and government actors, respectively, and the relevance of engaging with both parties in order to ensure effective promotion and protection of children’s rights.
• Familiarity with humanitarian assistance and long-term development work in order to communicate effectively with partners.
• A full understanding of political, economic and social contexts of the Country.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong ability to work within and across teams.
• Fully computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
