JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose:
To support the Pharmacist in the efficient dispensing of medicines, inventory management, and providing frontline support to patients and clinical staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the hospital pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Pharmacist in dispensing prescriptions accurately under supervision.
- Receive, store, and manage pharmaceutical stock, including monitoring expiry dates.
- Maintain proper storage conditions for drugs as per guidelines.
- Issue medicines to inpatient wards and outpatient clients.
- Prepare simple formulations and maintain cleanliness in the dispensing area.
- Handle basic billing and cashiering functions at the pharmacy.
- Provide excellent customer service, directing queries to the Pharmacist when necessary.
- Assist in maintaining pharmacy records and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda as a Pharmacy Technician/Assistant is required.
- At least 1-2 years of experience working in a retail or hospital pharmacy.
- Strong numerical and organizational skills.
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 12
Level of Education: associate degree
