Makerere University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for various academic, administrative, and support staff positions.
Responsibilities or duties
Provide technical advice and guidance to Sub-Contracts Committees and the Users
- Provide secretarial services to the Sub-Contracts Committees;
- Liaise with end-users and compiles all procurement requirements for the College/ Units;
- Guide suppliers on procurement procedures;
- Verify documentation relating to procurement and organize the documentation for easy use by all interested parties;
- Preparing periodic reports for the Contracts Committee and PPDA;
- Liaise with the Accounts to ensure availability of procurement funds and timely payments to suppliers/Consultants/ Contractors.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Masters’ Degree in Procurement or Purchasing, Supplies and Chain Management.
- A professional qualification in Procurement or Purchasing such as the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS).
- An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement or Purchasing from a recognized institution.
- In depth knowledge of regulatory law;
- Leadership and supervisory skills;
- Ability to build, lead and work with teams;
- Computer literacy;
- Interpersonal and communication skills;
- Quick judgment and decision making;
- Ability to initiate change.
Experience needed
Minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience at Assistant Officer level.

Tenure of Appointment: 4-year contract
