The Youth Economic Empowerment through Livestock Development (YEELD) Program is a five-year initiative aimed at improving the socio-economic well-being and resilience of financially disadvantaged young people aged 18–35 years in the Teso, Bukedi, and Ankole sub-regions of Uganda through livestock value chains. The program seeks to create 250,000 work opportunities, including for 200,000 (80%) young women, 5% persons with disabilities (PWDS), and 3% refugees and displaced persons (RDPS). YEELD is being implemented across 20 districts in the three sub-regions through a consortium coordinated by Ripple Effect, DFCU Foundation, and Multi Community Based Development Initiative (MUCBOADI), and Action for Development (ACFODE) as a Gender and Social Inclusion partner, in partnership with the MasterCard Foundation.

Ankole Private Sector Promotion Centre Ltd (APROCEL) is a sub-partner to Ripple Effect implementing the program in the Ankole sub-region. APROCEL desires to recruit skilled, committed self-driven and result oriented individuals to fill the positions mentioned below.

Positions will be based in Sheema

Project Officers (2 Positions)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day planning and implementation of specific project activities at the community level.
  • Work directly with community structures, beneficiaries, and local partners to execute project interventions.
  • Facilitate community-level training, awareness campaigns, and group sessions for beneficiaries.
  • Provide technical support, mentorship, and coaching to community volunteers, facilitators, or partner staff.
  • Collect monitoring data, document success stories and lessons learned, and contribute to project reports.
  • Ensure child safeguarding and protection policies are adhered to during all activities.
  • Represent the project in district and sub-county coordination meetings (e.g., technical working groups).
  • Identify, refer, and follow up on cases of vulnerable individuals requiring additional support from service providers.
