REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) – PROVISION OF CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR CAPACITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT (CNA)
Uganda Cooperative Alliance Ltd. (UCA), the Apex body for all registered cooperative societies in Uganda has received funding from the Goverment of Uganda through the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (MTC) for Cooperative Development Work across the country and part of this fund shall be used to conduct a Capacity Needs Assessment (CNA) to establish capacity gaps that are existing in cooperatives.
It is on that basis that UCA is seeking to hire the Services of a highly skilled, experienced, competent and reputable Consultancy firm (s) to conduct capacity needs assessment on a minimum of 20 cooperatives that shall be selected from each of the Districts, municipalities and cities across the country by considering the various categories and forms of cooperatives. The Capacity Needs Assessment report shall ultimately form basis for our capacity building interventions in building and strengthening cooperatives for better service delivery to Ugandans.
Uganda Cooperative Aliance "client therefore invites eligible consulting firms "consultants" to express interest in providing the required services. The client expects the consultants to fully complete the assignment and submit an acceptable report in three (3) months period. The consultant shall not have any actual/potential or reasonably perceived conflict of interest.
The expression of interest (both technical and financial) clearly marked "Expression of interest for conducting a Capacity Needs Assessment in cooperatives on behalf of UCA" and addressed to the General Secretary (UCA) may be physically delivered to UCA Head office building on plot 47/49, Nkrumah Road, Kampala or through UCA Email: ugandacooperativeallance@gmail.com, ugandococoo@gmail.com
Expected deliverables
The consulting firm shall be expected to:
1) Develop a comprehensive Capacity Needs Assessment Tool for data collection.
2) Prepare and submit an inception report clearly
indicating the methodology, scope of work the team to be deployed and time frame for assignment completion.
3) Submit an acceptable capacity needs assessment report clearly bringing our capacity gaps and appropriate remedies.
Required qualifications
Interested consultants are required to provide Information demonstrating that they possess the required skills, knowledge, experience and competences to perform the above task. In addition, the consultancy firm sha
1) Be physically registered, with physical office and operating in Uganda
2) Deploy a lead Consultant who should possess a minimum education background of Masters degree of Business Administration, Cooperative development, Business Statistics, Economics, Agribusiness, Monitoring and Evaluation, Law, Finance and or social sciences.
3)Possess wider knowledge and experience in working with cooperatives
4) Possess a minimum of five (5) years in doing similar assignment.
5) Be a legal entity with valid trading license from the relevant authorities
6)Be tax compliant with a tax clearance certificate 7) Present a list of at least three (3) client references for similar assignment
Selection: Selection shall be based on quality of expression, budget, experience and level of competence of the team.
Deadline for submission: Wednesday 20 December 2023 at 11.00 (Local time).
