About EarthEnable:

EarthEnable is transforming how people live by making homes healthier for families across rural Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda and helping to reduce the polluting impact of the building industry on the environment. Most Rwandans, Ugandans and Kenyans live in homes with dirt floors that are dusty, unsanitary, and fertile breeding grounds for parasites and germs. While replacing a dirt floor with concrete has significant health benefits (e.g., reducing diarrhea by 50% and parasitic infections by 80%), concrete is unaffordable for many who need it and is a huge contributor to global pollution.

To counter the environmental and affordability issues surrounding concrete, EarthEnable has spent the past 8+ years developing and selling high-quality, earthen floors and plasters that are 80% cheaper than concrete with 90% less embodied energy.

About the Role:

The Quality Assurance Assistant will support the QA team in ensuring that EarthEnable’s products and services meet the required quality standards. This role involves assisting with field inspections, supporting quality control processes, documenting findings, and following up on corrective actions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and has a basic understanding or interest in quality assurance and construction work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting quality checks on floors and plasters and other products to ensure they are in the acceptable quality range.
  • Support the team in auditing mason capacity and verifying their readiness to deliver quality work.
  • Assist in monitoring varnish and anti-termite applications across the county.
  • Support the approval process for all construction stages by preparing documentation and ensuring timely inspections.
  • Assist in identifying poor-quality floors and reporting them for corrective action.
  • Assist in handling small, quick repairs identified in the field and escalate major repairs to the supervisor.
  • Visit customers with open issues, assess the level of work needed, and advise whether the DSO should resolve or escalate the matter to the District Manager.
  • Support the follow-up and closure of open quality issues until fully resolved.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting quality reports to district teams, including highlighting gaps and recommending improvements.
  • Help maintain accurate records of inspections, approvals, issues, repairs, and team activities.
  • Support the coordination of QA district meetings by preparing agendas, tracking action points, and following up on progress.
  • Work closely with the QA Coordinator to plan and execute weekly activities.
  • Assist in painting and design of plasters as required within the assigned district.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Fresh Graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Previous experience in an audit, quality assurance or control role, preferably in the construction
  • Strong attention to details with problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
