About the Role

Mildmay Hospital Uganda is seeking a qualified and dedicated Radiographer to join its medical team. The successful candidate will support the Radiography Unit by providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services that are safe, timely, and cost-effective. This role contributes directly to patient care and clinical outcomes through accurate imaging, performed in accordance with institutional policies and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Radiological Imaging Services
    • Perform and deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services for both general and private clients to support clinical decision-making.
  2. Operational Efficiency
    • Support the effective day-to-day running of the radiography unit, ensuring adherence to schedules, minimizing downtime, and coordinating with clinicians.
  3. Resource Management
    • Ensure proper use and maintenance of radiological equipment and materials, minimizing waste and maximizing equipment uptime.
  4. Quality Assurance & Compliance
    • Adhere to all standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
    • Ensure compliance with national health and radiation safety regulations.
  5. Team Collaboration
    • Actively collaborate with the clinical team to provide timely diagnostic information and participate in multidisciplinary care.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A Diploma in Radiography or Medical Imaging from a recognized institution.
  • Valid registration and practicing license with the Allied Health Professionals’ Council.
  • At least 2 years of practical experience in radiology and/or sonography.
  • Experience in dark room management and image processing.
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS care is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of the laws and safety regulations governing the use of radiation.
  • Familiarity with imaging equipment, relevant software, and standard medical imaging terminology.
