Description

Tenna & Pharma Laboratories is hiring Radiographer (2) with the following key responsibilities;

Reports To: Radiologist / Medical In-Charge

Key Responsibilities

  • Verifying patients’ identities and reviewing physicians’ recommendations before beginning X-ray procedures.
  • Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures, including digital X-rays and ultrasound scans as per physicians’ written orders.
  • Limiting patients’ exposure to radiation by choosing the appropriate KV and Mas and placing lead shields on patients where needed.
  • Working closely with the Radiologist to determine whether further tests are required.
  • Ensure compliance with Tenna and Pharma Laboratories’ standard operating procedures and the Gulf Health Council medical examination guidelines and requirements.
  • Operate and maintain digital radiography and ultrasound equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control activities within the radiology department.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation protection and radio-safety standards.
  • Develop, review, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the imaging department.
  • Liaise with the Atomic Energy Council (AEC) to ensure Thermoluminescent Dosimeters (TLDs) are submitted and read on time.
  • Maintain accurate patient imaging records and reports using the Hospital Information System (HIS).
  • Ensure proper infection prevention and biosafety practices within the imaging unit.
  • Participate in departmental audits, inventory management, and equipment monitoring.
  • Provide professional and compassionate patient care while maintaining confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma in Medical Radiography from a recognized and reputable institution.
  • Valid practicing license/registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Training and experience in ultrasound scanning and digital X-ray imaging.
  • Additional training in radiation safety and quality assurance is an added advantage.
  • At least 2–3 years of relevant clinical experience in GHC-accredited settings is preferred.

Required Competencies and Skills

  • Proficiency in ultrasound scanning and digital radiography.
  • Good understanding of radiation safety principles and quality assurance systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Good report writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
