Background
Records Clerk (1 Position)
Reporting to the Records Manager, the role is responsible for protecting the Bank’s records in archives custody against alteration, theft, physical damage, limit accessibility, ensure efficient retrieval while maintaining a high level of integrity and provide day to day support in accordance with the laid down bank’s policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Receive, record, label and deliver archived documents from the respective branches/departments to central registry and offsite archives.
- Retrieve records to support business and internal departments.
- Respond to queries from internal departments.
- Escalate to the line manager any control breaches that may be detected in the records management process.
- Supervise the movement of records to and from the central archives.
- Dispose off bank records in line with the bank records policy and regulatory authorities.
- Comply with the regulatory records retention policies.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a Diploma in Records Management.
- One (1) years’ experience in records management.
Skills and Attributes
- Ability to understand the bank processes and operations guidelines.
- Ability to retrieve archived materials.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Ability to follow and maintain established procedures for archival collection.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationship with staff at different levels.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge in computer usage.
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- High level of integrity.
- Should be self-driven and goal oriented.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Relationship building.
- Customer intimacy.
- Continuous learning.
- Drive for results.
- Accountability.
