Context

Bloom by IMPACT is designed as a web application, with user purchasing licenses for use online (SaaS solution). The minimum viable product has been developed in 2023, and the project is expected to be market ready in 2024. The application is designed to be available in multiple languages, starting in English and French.

Bloom by IMPACT, as an out-of-the box monitoring and evaluation tool empowers you to understand how your supply chain affects communities. To know whether you are having a positive contribution in people’s lives and where to improve practices. Hereby, putting the “responsible” in responsible sourcing and create transformative change around the globe.

How it works:
• Create a Monitoring & Evaluation Framework to select the objectives you want to measure.
• Generate a Data Collection Protocol for your Framework and share with your team.
• Collect the data using the information provided in the Protocol.
• Generate a report for your Framework.
• Use the report’s analysis to transform lives and source responsibly from communities.

• Out-of-the-Box: Create an M&E framework and data collection protocol ready-to-use for your team
• Aligned with ESG and SDGs: Report against your selected Environmental, Social, and Governance targets and Sustainable Development Goals
• Aligned with Supply Chain Standards: Report against your selected sourcing standards or compliance frameworks
• Standardized Data Reporting: Speak a common data language on responsible sourcing and compare against national statistics

Target Users:
• Private sector: Large and small enterprises who want to understand how their supply chain affects communities and where to improve practices. Report against selected ESG targets, SDGs, or sourcing standards, such as the OECD Due Diligence Guidance.
• Civil society: Groups implementing or overseeing projects in producer communities and require monitoring & evaluation. Gather data against selected against SDGs and more.
• Government, donors, or regulatory bodies: Add your M&E requirements into Bloom by IMPACT to create a standard compliance framework which stakeholders can report against across commodities, supply chains, and geographies. Use the data generated to guide compliance and policymaking.
• Producer communities: Local communities in producing countries can use the analysis generated to create community-based responses to the challenges they face and prosper.

Bloom by IMPACT has adapted internationally tested Indexes and Common Indicator Frameworks for use at a local level and aligned them with SDGs. By using Bloom by IMPACT, not only do users have all the information they need at the click of the button to know how to report against ESG targets or SDGs, but also can compare against national and global benchmarks.

Scope of Work and Objectives

The consultant or firm will develop a business plan and pricing strategy for Bloom by IMPACT to guide its release onto the market in 2024. This will inform current tiers of pricing for the product and associated services, as well as inform future platform development.

The analysis must consider:
• Different types of SaaS pricing strategies, including Free trial, Freemium, Reverse trial, Inverse pricing, Flat-rate pricing, Usage-based pricing, Seat-based pricing, Tiered pricing, Customized bundling, or tiers
• Underlying business considerations that go into pricing, the different pricing strategies available, and the process for creating or customizing this pricing strategy to avoid undercharging or overcharging
• Pricing considerations when linked to other services including interoperability with other SaaS providers or modular offerings
• How current and potential customers perceive or experience product value, to ensure the pricing strategy is an important growth lever for Knowledge for Impact’s emerging business
• The role of the SaaS offering in the overall business plan needs to be examined as a driver for business sustainability and a guide for future product development

Deliverables
1. Detailed pricing strategy for Bloom by IMPACT’s two stage market release:
a. Stage 1: soft launch period leading up to version 1.0
b. Stage 2: Release of full version 1.0
2. How Bloom by IMPACT’s pricing will affect the business plan for Knowledge for Impact
3. Recommendations for future platform development based on pricing strategy
Timelines

Start of project: January 15, 2024
Final deliverables: no later than March 1, 2024

Profile Required
This assignment requires a diverse skill set with not only a strong knowledge of SaaS technology offerings but also a deep understanding of supply chains (preferably in the extractives sector), actors along the supply chains (including Fortune 500’s and small-scale enterprises), along with their reporting requirements, including on social impact.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Technology/Business sector with previous assignments creating business plans, pricing strategies.
• An understanding of international commercial supply chains, preferably in the extractives sector.
• A strong understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals and their role in corporate and NGO reporting practices.
• A strong understanding of the practice of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) as used by NGO’s and donor agencies.

Proposal Submission
Proposals should include:
• Proposed workplan and timeline to achieve the deliverables
• Proposed budget
• A profile of all team members who will complete the work
• Previous experience completing similar projects
