ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll be the driving force behind Olea's compliance culture, coordinating adherence to regulatory obligations, reviewing and strengthening internal policies, and keeping risk and compliance front of mind across the business.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Keep Olea aligned with regulatory obligations under the IRA, FIA, NITA, URSB and other relevant authorities.
- Review, update and strengthen internal policies and procedures to meet evolving regulatory requirements while ensuring alignment with Group-level compliance standards and processes.
- Review policies and business documentation to ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirement.
- Monitor and maintain Olea's KYC process in line with Group standards, coordinating with the Group Compliance Officer to ensure consistent implementation across the business.
- Coordinate regulatory reporting, monitor filing deadlines and ensure timely submission of all statutory return.
- Design and roll out risk and compliance frameworks and internal controls that actually work in practice, balancing local regulatory requirements with Group policies and standards.
- Run internal audits to test compliance with both company procedure and external regulation.
- Build a genuine risk and compliance culture, training and equipping colleagues, not just policing them.
- Handle corporate secretarial matters, including maintaining statutory registers, coordinating board documentation, and ensuring timely filings with the URSB and other relevant bodies, in coordination with the Groupe Legal Department.
- Flag issues early and develop practical remedial plans when something needs fixing.
- Take on other projects as the department and business needs evolve.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- A bachelor's degree in Law, Insurance, Banking, Risk Management, or a related field.
- A working knowledge of risk and compliance principles, insurance sector experience is a strong plus.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the work force.
- Knowledge of insurance regulation and the financial services sector is an advantage.
- Professional qualifications in Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit or Insurance will be an added advantage.
- Strong critical thinking, and the confidence to communicate and influence at all levels.
- A collaborative, adaptable mindset, with genuine curiosity for learning and improving how things are done.
