Job Profile / Summary
The Safari Guide Lead is the front-line ambassador of Alishar Adventures. They are responsible for guest experience during safaris and tours, ensuring safety, cultural interpretation, and compliance with UWA, UTB, and Tourism Police requirements. This role also supervises drivers and junior guides to guarantee professionalism and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead safari tours, ensuring safe navigation and adherence to park rules.
2. Conduct pre-tour safety briefings and cultural orientation.
3. Perform daily vehicle inspections and logbook updates.
4. Maintain first aid kits and ensure medical readiness.
5. Interpret wildlife, culture, and environment for guests.
6. Supervise dedicated drivers and junior guides.
7. Submit daily safari reports and incident records.
8. Train new drivers and guides on UTB standards.
9. Ensure guest luggage safety and comfort.
10. Provide photo logs and environmental conservation tips.
11. Coordinate with UWA and Tourism Police for park entries.
12. Enforce client code of conduct during trips.
13. Handle emergencies, including breakdowns and evacuations.
14. Maintain communication with Operations desk.
15. Ensure environmental sustainability practices are observed.
KPIs & Targets
- 0 accidents/incidents per year.
- 95% client satisfaction rating.
- 100% compliance with park and UTB safety rules.
Education & Qualifications
- Diploma in Tourism Guiding (UHTTI Jinja).
- Professional: UWA Guide License, St John Ambulance First Aid.
- 5+ years guiding and defensive driving
