JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of the Job
Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE) is a national women’s rights non-governmental organization based in Kampala. FOWODE wishes to add to her team a competent, results oriented, proactive and selfdriven individual and is seeking applications to fill the post of Senior Human Resource Officer.

The Senior Human Resource Officer will lead and initiate, develop, review and monitor the implementation of human resource management and organizational development policies, strategies, systems, processes and procedures in line with the organization’s strategic plan and national labor laws.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Oversee the recruitment, retention and motivation of the organisation’s human resource.
• Ensure an effective performance management system.
• Ensure succession planning through continuous talent identification and management.
• Conduct regular job assessments to inform decision making. V. Develop and implement annual Capacity Building Plans.
• Ensure compliance with the national labor laws and regulations.
• Ensure staff compliance to organizational policies.
• Provide strategic advisory to the leadership Team on human resource issues.
• Oversee and support FOWODE’s governance function.
• Nurture a healthy organizational culture that espouses FOWODE’s values.
• Ensure a safe and conducive working environment.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management with a PGD in Human Resource Management or accumulated HR experience.
• Master’s degree in human resource management or Masters in Business Administration (Human resource) or Masters in Public Administration (Human resource) or Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. A post graduate diploma in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.
• A CIPD certification will be an added advantage.

Skills and Experience
Experience
• 5 years and above of working experience in a reputable organisation preferably an NGO at a Senior HR management level and in HR strategic planning.
• Experience in setting up and managing an HR and Information Management system is an added advantage.

Skills /Abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong working knowledge of the national labor laws, regulations and HR best practices.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• High level of ethics, integrity and confidentiality.

Experience in Months: 60

Level of Education:
Bachelor Degree
