Job Description

Manage film wrapping and heat shrink bundling equipment to package bottles securely into 6 pack or 12 pack shrink bundles.

Operate the packaging line position in strict compliance with safety, hygiene, and product quality specifications.

Protect packaging efficiency and material integrity by preventing avoidable waste, equipment downtime, and non compliant bundles.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate shrink bundling tunnels and film wrapping machinery following approved start up, running, changeover, shutdown, and cleaning procedures.
• Monitor and regulate heat tunnel temperature parameters and thread packaging film correctly to ensure stable bundle formation.
• Conduct continuous inspections of wrapped packs for seal tightness, alignment, correct pack count, and structural integrity.
• Perform authorized machine adjustments strictly within defined operational limits and request technical support for mechanical faults.
• Isolate defective packs or compromised packaging materials immediately to prevent downstream processing or dispatch.
• Execute cleaning, allergen control, and line clearance protocols during product changeovers and shift handovers.
• Record process parameters, inspection checks, and production counts truthfully and legibly in official shift logs.
• Adhere to all food safety, machine guarding, personal protective equipment, and occupational health regulations at all times.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

• Ordinary Diploma or National Diploma in Mechanical Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Food Processing, Production Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, Applied Sciences, Printing Technology, or related technical fields.
• National Certificate, Craft Certificate, Technical Trade Certificate, or relevant TVET qualification in Mechanical Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Food Processing, Production Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, Applied Sciences, or related technical disciplines.
• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with demonstrated literacy, numeracy, safety awareness, and physical capability.

Experience

• No prior work experience required.
• Includes 2 weeks operational training.
