JOB DETAILS:
POSITION: Site Nursery Officer
JOB TYPE: Fulltime
LOCATION: Dokolo, Uganda
POSTS: 1
PERIOD: 6 Months Contract Renewable

Scope of Work
In charge of overseeing all production activities throughout the entire process, following the Melia Azedarach production job card. This includes managing plus trees, propagation, hardening off, and producing the agreed-upon number of seedlings. Ensure accurate stock reports and meet the established time frames consistently.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Planning: Develop yearly, monthly, and weekly production work plans for review.
2. Work Plan Implementation: Implement approved nursery work plans according to schedule, and technical guidelines, and within budget.
3. Nursery Stock Management: Responsible for seedling stock management in the Dokolo nursery, ensuring inputs match outputs.
4. Human Resource Supervision: Supervise all human resources involved in seedling production, adhering to company policies.
5. Training: Train and build the capacity of staff at the nursery on relevant activities as per the approved work plans.
6. Reporting: Timely reporting of both technical and non-technical issues related to the job.
7. Communication: Ensure timely and correct communication of issues related to the job using approved communication channels.
8. Other Duties: Carry out any other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Possession of BSc in Forestry with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related position
• Experience in nursery management is an added advantage.
• Must be conversant in both spoken and written English.
• Knowledge of Lango is an added advantage.
• Computer literate
• Valid motorbike riding license
