JOB DETAILS:

Background
Enabel in Uganda is seeking to recruit a SBCC Expert to be based in Kampala with frequent travel to Albertine and Busoga Region
The SBCC Expert coordinates the elaboration and management of behavioral change communication by providing inputs for planning, designing, execution, coordination and monitoring and evaluation of Social Behaviour Change Communication activities in order to ensure that the results of the Projects are achieved within the set execution deadline.

Tasks and Responsibilities

1. You provide overall technical and administrative leadership in the areas of social behaviour elaboration and management of this component in both pillars;
2. You ensure that budget is used according to the operational and financial plans by reviewing the supporting documents through regular spot checks and respective policies
3. You supervise, update and validate quarterly and annual reporting of planned activities;
4. You contribute to knowledge building and knowledge management in social behaviour.
5. You provide the necessary technical input in the area of social behaviour change communication in order to achieve the project’s technical performance in accordance with national and international norms and standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

1. Master’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Social and Behavioral Sciences and related fields;
2. Specialised training in Social Behaviour Change Communication
3. At least 5 years proven experience in planning, designing and implementing social behaviour change programmes;
4. At least 5 years proven experience in managing and implementing comprehensive, evidence based, community led and context specific Social Behaviour Change Communication programmes in either the health (e.g., health education and promotion) or education sector;
5. Required Knowledge and Skills
6. Knowledgeable about community involvement in Social Behaviour Change Communication interventions;
7. Familiar with development and pretesting of Social Behaviour Change Communication messages, materials and tools;
8. Ability to mentor, motivate and coordinate a team of staff and partners;
9. Excellent command of written and spoken English;
10. Ability to effectively mobilise and work with both rural and urban communities;
11. Demonstrated ability to effectively work with local government partners and manage their expectations;
12. Excellent ICT skills (adobe master collection package: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, …)
13. Ability to organize and facilitate workshops.
