The primary duty of the stores Assistant is to be part of the stores and stock control team that manages and implements stock processes and the general store practices.
The job holder will play a key role in the inventory management cycle that encompasses but not limited to, the receipt, storage, counting, reporting, record management, maintaining order and cleanliness, and keeping the general safety of stocks, staff and the facility in a way that contributes directly to RHSP’s goal and objectives.
Rakai Health Sciences Program (RHSP) is a collaborative biomedical research and service delivery organization. RHSP strives to improve the quality of life of the local and international population through a combination of community-based research, curative services, and prevention strategies in Uganda.

Responsibilities or duties
- Receiving and proper documentation of goods/supplies into the store
- Stock Inspection, secondary re-packaging & Reporting
- Goods Dispatch & Accountability
- Hygiene & Safety Compliance
- Compliance & Documentation
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Bachelor’s degree in Warehouse Operations, Procurement & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in computer applications and ERP systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Experience needed
- Prior experience (internship or voluntary) in logistics, stores, or supply chain management.
- High level of accuracy and diligence in inventory management processes.
- Physical ability to handle heavy tasks, including carrying loads up to 30 kg
