Project Overview

A premier agricultural development initiative is seeking a highly analytical and field-experienced Agribusiness Consultant. This role will collaborate on an active, high-impact agribusiness consultancy project. The selected consultant will lead the market, technical, and financial validation phases to assess project viability and guide strategic investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Feasibility Assessment: Design, structure, and execute comprehensive end-to-end feasibility studies for large-scale agricultural projects.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct deep-dive market research to analyze agricultural value chains, demand-supply dynamics, pricing structures, and competitive landscapes.
  • Technical Evaluation: Assess agro-climatic conditions, raw material sourcing pipelines, infrastructural requirements, and technological adoptions for the project.
  • Financial Modeling: Develop robust financial projections, including Capital Expenditure (CAPEX), Operational Expenditure (OPEX), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and break-even timelines.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify critical operational, environmental, regulatory, and market risks, establishing clear risk-mitigation frameworks.
  • Deliverable Compilation: Co-author, structure, and present high-quality, investment-ready consultancy reports and actionable strategies for project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Economics, Finance, Development Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Sector Experience: Proven, practical track record working within the agribusiness sector, specifically handling value chain development or agricultural investments.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong, demonstrated expertise in drafting formal, data-driven feasibility studies and business models from scratch.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in quantitative data analysis, financial forecasting, and economic modeling.
  • Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal and technical writing skills, with a proven ability to co-deliver complex consultancy outputs under tight timelines.
