The Uganda Federation of Movie Industry (UFMI), the Collective Management Organization (CMO) representing film rights holders in Uganda, invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and visionary individuals for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The Chief Executive Officer shall be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of UFMI, ensuring effective administration, growth of the organization, protection of members' rights, collection and distribution of royalties, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities or duties
- Provide strategic leadership and management of UFMI operations.
- Develop and implement the organization's strategic plans and policies.
- Lead royalty collection, management, and distribution systems.
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, broadcasters, digital platforms, film producers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with copyright laws, regulations, and governance frameworks.
- Oversee financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
- Mobilize resources and develop partnerships to strengthen the organization.
- Supervise and manage staff and operations.
- Prepare and present reports to the Board of Directors.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Law, Arts Management, Film, Communications, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.
- A Master's Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
- At least five (5) years of senior management or executive leadership experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of copyright, intellectual property rights, collective management organizations, or the creative industry.
- Strong financial management and resource mobilization skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proven experience in strategic planning and organizational development.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
Terms of Appointment
The successful candidate shall be offered a contract subject to terms and conditions approved by the Board of Directors of UFMI.
