Description

Autochek Uganda is hiring a Credit Underwriting Associate responsible for verifying the accuracy of all credit origination documents for all in-country loans before disbursement. Identify, flag, and correct incomplete, missing, and mismatched documents within the credit origination funnel. Drive document compliance for all originated loans. Follow up and ensure the completeness of required documentation from the Vehicle Under Management Team. Ensure complete loan availability on MINT for all reviewing and approving partners. Coordinate accurate loan loading on TESSERACT prior to Finance payout on Hydra. Ensure adherence to the loan payout process for all approved credit deals on the Credit Underwriter Ul. Deliver a 95% accuracy rate on documents processed via the Credit Underwriting User Interface. Identify an acceptable level of lending risk, in line with Autochek Financial Services’ (AFS) risk appetite, to maximise profit from that transaction. Support and demonstrate a risk management culture in line with AFS’s values – proactive identification and escalation of risks and issues to mitigate further risks/losses. Be responsible for key performance indicators on approved loans, including the loan-ready SLA for in-country disbursement, as aligned with superiors.

  • Solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all credit origination documents for all in-country loans before disbursement.
  • Identify, flag, and correct incomplete, missing, and mismatched documents within the credit origination funnel.
  • Drive document compliance for all originated loans.
  • Follow up and ensure the completeness of required documentation from the Vehicle Under Management Team.
  • Ensure complete loan availability on MINT for all reviewing and approving partners.
  • Coordinate accurate loan loading on TESSERACT prior to Finance payout on Hydra.
  • Ensure adherence to the loan payout process for all approved credit deals on the Credit Underwriter Ul.
  • Deliver a 95% accuracy rate on documents processed via the Credit Underwriting User Interface.
  • Identify an acceptable level of lending risk, in line with Autochek Financial Services’ (AFS) risk appetite, to maximise profit from that transaction.
  • Support and demonstrate a risk management culture in line with AFS’s values – proactive identification and escalation of risks and issues to mitigate further risks/losses.
  • Be responsible for key performance indicators on approved loans, including the loan-ready SLA for in-country disbursement, as aligned with superiors.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Credit, Risk and Finance Management experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Thoughtful, demonstrating good judgment and strong decision-making based on accurate and timely analysis.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a matrix, extremely dynamic, fast-paced, results-oriented multi-country environment, with prioritisation.
  • Results-oriented approach to work; willingness to do whatever it takes to help the team.
  • Able to deliver the highest standards of customer service.
  • Strong problem-solving and creative skills.
  • BSc degree in Finance, Commercial, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive training in Credit Management and Financial-related fields will be an advantage.

Technical Requirements

  • Strong communication, organisation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong risk management for a credit portfolio.
  • Knowledge of Credit Management and Operations.
  • Experience with credit decisioning tools and best market practices.
  • Experience working in a high-tech environment.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Excellent data analytics skills, including Tableau, Power Bl, and MS Office Suite.
  • Proven track record of functioning within successful and innovative teams.
  • Good people skills.
  • Strong reporting skills.
