1. Job Details

Job Title: Data Center Engineer

Function: Technology / IT Infrastructure

Reporting To: Data Center Manager / IT Infrastructure Manager

2. Purpose of the Role

The Data Center Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of data center infrastructure. This includes servers, storage systems, networking equipment, power systems, cooling systems, and security controls to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of IT services.

3. Key Deliverables & Responsibilities

3.1 Data Center Operations & Maintenance

Expected Results:

• High availability of data center systems
• Minimal downtime and service interruptions

Key Activities:

• Monitor data center infrastructure (servers, storage, network devices)
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
• Troubleshoot hardware and system failures
• Manage rack space, cabling, and equipment layout
• Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure

3.2 Infrastructure Deployment & Configuration

Expected Results:

• Timely deployment of IT equipment
• Proper configuration aligned to standards

Key Activities:

• Install and configure servers, storage systems, and networking equipment
• Support virtualization platforms and cloud integrations
• Implement patch management and firmware upgrades
• Ensure systems are hardened and compliant with security policies

3.3 Power, Cooling & Environmental Management

Expected Results:

• Stable power and cooling systems
• Reduced risk of outages due to environmental factors

Key Activities:

• Monitor UPS, generators, PDUs, and cooling systems
• Coordinate maintenance with facilities teams
• Ensure proper temperature, humidity, and airflow management
• Support capacity planning for power and cooling

3.4 Security & Compliance

Expected Results:

• Secure data center operations
• Compliance with regulatory and internal standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering with 3-5 years working experience
• Good understanding of Data center infrastructure (understand data center construction standards, power supply and distribution and data center products)
• Be familiar with strong and weak current (high and low voltage), HVAC and have civil engineering knowledge (understand tier architecture, Data center design requirements and CAD high level design)
• Knowledge of CAD drawings, data center solutions and DC solution implementation (Understand Data center maintenance and products)
• Independently complete the delivery planning for a level-C Data Center (Have some project management knowledge)
