Background
Hope Health Action (HHA), a Christian charity committed to improving access to health and disability care for vulnerable communities, invites applications from suitably qualified East African leaders for the position of East Africa Director.
The East Africa Director will provide strategic leadership across HHA's Uganda and South Sudan operations, lead and coach Country Directors, strengthen organisational systems and performance, oversee regional partnerships and donor relationships, and support the transition towards increasingly autonomous country leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing regional strategic leadership and supporting country strategy development.
- Coaching and holding Country Directors accountable for performance and delivery.
- Strengthening programme quality, financial management, compliance, safeguarding and risk management.
- Building relationships with governments, donors, churches, UN/NGO partners and other stakeholders.
- Supporting resource mobilisation, sustainable growth and organisational development.
- Strengthening leadership, organisational culture, succession and localisation.
- Representing HHA at regional and international levels.
Key Requirements
- A relevant Bachelor's degree; Master's degree is desirable.
- At least 8 years' senior leadership experience in NGOs or international development.
- Proven experience managing complex, donor-funded programmes and multi-country operations.
- Strong strategic, financial, programme and people leadership skills.
- Experience working in East Africa; exposure to South Sudan is desirable.
- Commitment to HHA's Christian ethos, safeguarding, inclusion and service to vulnerable communities.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly, including to South Sudan.
