Dalilang Foods & Beverages is a Ugandan FMCG manufacturer producing packaged snacks, including potato crisps, gonja chips, coated peanuts and peanut butter, alongside spring water, fruit nectars and energy drinks.

Deliver end to end electrical and instrumentation maintenance to guarantee the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of plant machinery.

Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot critical electrical panels, variable frequency drives, field instruments, and wiring systems across the facility.

Support plant productivity and compliance by applying predictive maintenance practices, systematic fault diagnosis, and strict isolation standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, service, and repair electrical distribution panels, variable frequency drives (VFDs), temperature sensors, pressure transmitters, and plant wiring.
• Diagnose electrical and instrumentation faults systematically using schematics, manuals, test meters, and operating history to address root causes rather than symptoms.
• Apply strict electrical isolation, lockout tagout, and test before touch procedures before undertaking intrusive work, never bypassing safety interlocks without approved procedures.
• Execute planned preventive and predictive maintenance routines, monitoring equipment for loose connections, abnormal temperatures, vibration, and component wear.
• Calibrate process sensors, transmitters, and control instruments to preserve product quality, operational safety, and system accuracy.
• Configure, test, and adjust VFD parameters and manage three phase power distribution to optimize motor performance and energy reliability.
• Verify settings, calibrations, safety interlocks, guarding, and operational performance before handing repaired equipment back to production.
• Maintain legible, accurate, and traceable records of work orders, calibration results, machine settings, parts used, and safety incidents.
• Coordinate with operational teams before isolating machinery and communicate clearly once systems are verified safe to energize and operate.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, Higher Diploma, Ordinary Diploma, or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation and Control, Mechatronics, Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or closely related engineering fields.
• National Certificate, Craft Certificate, UBTEB qualification, TVET credential, or recognized trade apprenticeship in electrical installation, industrial automation, or plant maintenance.
• Professional registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) or Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE), or possession of a valid Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) installation permit where required by law.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
