Job Purpose

The Enrolled Midwives will deliver compassionate and comprehensive maternal, prenatal, and neonatal care within the hospital's busy maternity unit, ensuring safe deliveries and excellent patient outcomes.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Valid Certificate in Midwifery from a recognized training institution.
• Licensing: Must be registered with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC) with an active, up-to-date practicing license.
• Skills: Strong communication, clinical competence under busy conditions, and dedication to maternal wellness.

• Conduct routine antenatal and postnatal checkups, monitoring maternal health and fetal development.
• Manage normal deliveries independently and provide emotional and physical support during labor.
• Identify, monitor, and escalate high-risk obstetric cases or labor complications to senior medical staff.
• Administer immediate neonatal care, including APGAR scoring, cord care, and immunizations.
• Accurately maintain labor ward registries and track progress utilizing partographs.
