Background

Kabale University is located on Plot 364 Block 3 Kikungiri Hill, in Kabale Municipality, about a kilometre off Kabale-Katuna-Kigali Highway. The University can be accessed via Mukombe Road, which connects the Kikungiri Campus to the Highway. An additional Campus is located on Plots 66-76 in Nyabikoni Parish in the Central Division of Kabale Municipality.

Purpose

An enrolled nurse shall work under Assistant Nursing Officer to provide patient care in clinical and other medical settings in helping to create patient care plans, providing practical day-to-day assistance to patients and monitoring their vital signs, and working with other medical professionals to ensure the best treatment outcome for patients.

Requirements

• Certificate in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Registered with Uganda Nursing and Midwifery Council
• Proven experience working as Enrolled Nurse.
• empathetic and caring towards patients
• organized and have excellent communication skills
• able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• resilient and able to spend long shifts on feet
• professional with a strong work ethics
• work as part of a team to achieve the best patient outcomes

• working under the supervision
• performing physical exams, including checking patients’ pulse, temperature and blood pressure
• assisting patients with mobility issues with personal hygiene tasks
• working with registered nurses, doctors and other healthcare providers to create a patient care plan
• writing patient notes
• providing first aid in medical emergencies
